VR Visualization of simulated Dinosaur Track Creation, November, 2017 - June, 2020
Graduate Researcher
Advisor: Prof. David H. Laidlaw
Visualization Research Lab
Brown University, Providence, RI, USAParticipated in a collaboration project with Evolutionary Biologists to develop novel immersive VR Visualizations methods for the analysis of large-scale particle simulations of soil movement during the creation of dinosaur tracks. Our initial results highlight the advantages of VR visualizations in the analysis of complex spatial time-varying data.
-
Virtual Reality Fidelity Components, August, 2014 - June, 2020
Graduate Researcher
Advisor: Prof. David H. Laidlaw
Visualization Research Lab
Brown University, Providence, RI, USAParticipated in a collaboration project with Virginia Tech to evaluate how different aspects of Virtual Reality (VR) display systems affect users in data exploration tasks. Our experiments cover traditional CAVE environments and state-of-the-art HMD systems. Our results provide guidelines for the effective use of VR in scientific applications.
-
Remote Volume Visualization, August, 2012 - December, 2013
Research Scholar
Advisor: Prof. Kwan-Liu Ma
Visualization and Interface Design Innovation Group
University of California, Davis, CA, USAParticipated in a project to provide interactive remote access to high-quality direct volume rendering visualizations through a browser interface. The project is focused on giving our collaborating radiologists a tool to view the current state of our medical visualization research and subsequently provide us with feedback during all development stages. The developed framework can also be used for more general applications.

Smart Visibility for 3D Ultrasound Datasets, April, 2011 - April, 2012
Graduate Researcher
Advisor: Prof. Eduard Gröller
Institute of Computer Graphics and Algorithms
Vienna University of Technology, Vienna, AustriaParticipated in a research collaboration with GE Healthcare Kretztechnik as part of my Masters thesis project. The project aimed to provide automatic removal of occluding tissue in 3D visualizations of obstetric ultrasound datasets. The resulting technique is currently being integrated into commercial ultrasound firmware and is subject to a patent application by GE Healthcare.
